Why are Londoners flocking to the OXBO Sunday Roast brunch at Hilton Bankside?

What happens when a traditional Sunday roast is combined with an enticing all you can eat brunch buffet? Pure magic, that’s what and it’s happening at OXBO restaurant at the Hilton Bankside hotel.

Weekends are made for indulgence, and there is no finer way to spend a leisurely Sunday than enjoying a truly exceptional roast brunch. My wife, Samira, our food-loving baby boy Xavier, and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing The Ultimate Roast Brunch at Hilton London Bankside—and it was nothing short of outstanding. And I don’t use the word outstanding lightly.

Situated in the heart of London, Hilton Bankside has built a reputation for its stylish surroundings and impeccable dining experiences. However, their Sunday brunch takes things to another level entirely. A four-course, extravaganza with all you can eat starters and desserts, it truly is the brunch that all brunch lovers dream of.

The experience begins with a visit to the Chef’s Traders Table, an abundant spread of unlimited starters. Beautifully arranged, the selection includes fresh salads, smoked salmon, artisan cheeses, and a variety of carefully curated small plates to whet the appetite. As we browsed, Xavier, wide-eyed with curiosity, watched the chefs at work while Samira and I revelled in the array of flavours on offer.

One of the standout features was the live cooking station, where the talented and welcoming chefs prepare classic breakfast favourites to order. Whether it’s a perfectly executed Eggs Benedict, indulgent Malted Pancakes, or light and fluffy Waffles drizzled with maple syrup, there is something to please every palate.

Once seated, we were presented with the tempting selection of main courses. Hilton Bankside’s Ultimate Roast Brunchoffers a choice of roast beef, roast chicken, or a vegetarian option of the week, each accompanied by crisp roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and the centrepiece of any British Sunday roast—golden, perfectly risen Yorkshire puddings.

I opted for the roast beef, served medium-rare with a rich, velvety gravy that enhanced every bite. Samira, ever the fan of classic comfort food, chose the roast chicken, which was succulent and flavoursome, its golden, crispy skin providing the perfect contrast in texture. Each dish was prepared to perfection, showcasing the depth of flavour and attention to detail that sets this brunch apart.

For those who enjoy a touch of luxury, the Bottomless Brunch option includes free-flowing bubbles, adding a celebratory note to an already indulgent affair.

Despite the generous portions of the main course, the thought of unlimited desserts was simply too enticing to resist. Returning to the Chef’s Traders Table, we found an array of exquisite sweet treats awaiting us. From delicate pastries to rich, decadent cakes and creamy desserts, the selection offered something to satisfy every sweet tooth.

Samira, a self-confessed dessert connoisseur, was immediately drawn to the silky smooth creme brûlée, while I could not resist the mango and passionfruit cheesecakes.

Us before rolling home and passing out into epic food comas

Merily partaking in The Ultimate Roast Brunch at Hilton Bankside is one of those decisions you will never regret. The combination of exquisite food, an elegant yet welcoming atmosphere, and faultless service makes it the perfect Sunday indulgence for couples, families, and groups of friends alike. The staff were also so friendly – the manager in particular was so lovely that Xavier became grandly attached to him, asking for cuddles and a tour of the restaurant.

At £42 per person for four courses or £58 for the Bottomless Brunch, it represents exceptional value for a luxury dining experience. Whether you are a London local or simply visiting the city, Hilton Bankside’s Sunday brunch is an unmissable treat that comes highly recommended. We are already looking forward to our next visit, except this time we will be wearing looser waistbands and will probably book a room in the hotel to roll into after our meal.

Post Sunday roast brunch food comas are no joke…
