There is plenty to recommend the Maritim Resort & Spa Mauritius already, with its waterside setting of Turtle Bay, looking out onto the Indian Ocean, plus 25 hectares of green tropical gardens and a nature park as its surrounds. If you were looking for the definition of paradise, this must come close, and that is before you consider the rest of the facilities – the Tropical Flower Spa, for example, recently opened its Spa Candle Suite, allowing guests to indulge in a massage or beauty treatment surrounded by candles.
The resort clearly feels it has been lacking for its most discerning guests, however, and is trying to put this right with its ‘VIP Package’, included for guests staying in its suites or the Pool Villa – which already has its own private swimming pool and gardens – and a paid-for upgrade for others. Included is a personal butler service, a bottle of champagne in your room upon arrival, a ‘Gourmet Dine Around’ experience for a greater range of food options at the resort’s six restaurants, Sunday brunch at its fine dining outlet, Château Mon Désir, 45 minutes of horse riding, plus discounts in the spa and with the romantic Magic Moments experiences.
The VIP Package also includes the ‘VIP Beach Package’, which can be chosen separately as a potential upgrade. It allows access to a select private beach with a dedicated butler service, reserved sun beds and all the attention you could possibly dream of, with snacks, drinks and ice creams delivered on a regular basis, and there is even a sunglasses-wiping service. The resort also has two private beach cabanas that can be reserved through the beach butler for extra wow factor.
