El Norte is the latest venture from Arian and Alberto Zandi, co-founders of the Emerald Hospitality Group. Having opened in November 2021, El Norte has quickly become one of Mayfair’s hotspots and is a most welcome addition to the London dining scene.
The restaurant takes inspiration from the Great Villas across Northern Spain, and the décor combines decades of tradition with contemporary touches; here vintage upholstery is mixed with low slung lighting and a marble bar, creating an eclectic environment that remembers its roots whilst embracing its future.
Intent on creating an evolved Spanish dining experience, El Norte takes its muse from Spain’s rich culinary heritage but updated for the modern day. No flavour is forgotten but amplified and enjoyed in chic surroundings amongst London’s most prestigious neighbourhood.
El Norte’s menu takes inspiration from some of Spain’s most popular gastronomic regions, offering a sharing style menu of traditional Spanish dishes with a modern and luxurious twist. The signature Tortilla de Trufa is an ideal dish to kick-start any lunch or dinner, for those feeling meaty then the Basque Rib Eye Steak and Iberian Wagyu Beef Burgers are not to be missed.
If it’s the azure Spanish shoreline you hanker after, then the Wild Tuna Tartare and Galician Grilled Octopus will be sure to satisfy the taste buds.
Each Sunday, El Norte serves a traditional rice dish special, taking inspiration from the Spanish tradition of friends and family gathering on Sundays to eat together. Similar to paella, using deliciously flavoured rice as a base, ingredients change weekly featuring delicacies such as octopus and lobster to create a luxurious weekend meal to enjoy with friends and family.
El Norte’s extensive wine list offers the perfect pairing to any dish. Choose from an array of exceptional regional Spanish wines or some of the finest global vintages, be that still or sparkling.
Meanwhile, the El Norte mixologists have curated an innovative collection of cocktails, from the El Churro (vodka infused with cinnamon, Mozart Choc, Baileys, and Simple Syrup) to the Agua de Valencia (gin, vodka, orange juice and cava). Alternatively, the Toffee Expresso Martini (gin, toffee, Kahlua, Express and toasted marshmallow) is sure to give you a sweet fix.
To entertain guests whilst they sip on sangria and tuck into tapas, the restaurant also offers live music throughout the week. To bring the weekend to life, El Norte is proud to welcome new resident DJ, Santiago Perez ever Friday and Saturday night for an incredible mix of Latin influenced house music from 6.30pm – 1.30am.
Additionally, every Tuesday from 6:30pm – 9:30pm, the restaurant will host Monica Guech – a Spanish vocalist and composer who creates a fusion of pop soul, jazz and Spanish Flamenco to transport guests to the streets of Spain.
