Rockpool dining area

Rockpool restaurant in Sydney is a fine dining establishment that is arguably the most iconic and respected restaurant in all of Australia. It has been named restaurant of the year in the 2016 Australian gourmet traveller guide and the wider Rockpool Group of restaurants are amongst the most awarded in the country. With an emphasis on sophisticated dining, flawless service and a truly progressive approach to food, this culinary destination is guaranteed to deliver highly memorable experiences for all.

Led by its owner Neil Perry, Rockpool has been in business since 1989 and has recently moved to a new location on Bridge Street where it is housed in the sandstone heritage Burns Philp building, perfectly accessible to both the central business district and the city’s harbour. The restaurant is approached via a grand sweeping staircase. Once inside, the dining area greets guests with a truly impressive soaring black ceiling dotted with sparkling lights. Heavily draped tables, Italian leather seats and artistic images of wafting smoke adorn the textured walls. 75 guests can be accommodated, with a further 30 on the mezzanine balcony, along with further spaces reserved for private dining. The décor is rather retro overall, the music jazz-themed and the dress code smart.
