STK-ing a claim to becoming London’s best steakhouse

Vibe dining is at the forefront of eating out trends around the world right now (who can blame them given we’ve all been locked in for so long) and the pioneers of this trend is the One Group. Their latest venture, STK Westminster, certainly fulfils any diners’ need for vibe dining.

Located in The Westminster London hotel, STK opened its doors this summer, and is the second STK site to open in London; the 22nd restaurant to join the STK portfolio globally, with locations in major metropolitan cities throughout North America, Europe, and The Middle East.

Perfectly positioned next to the River Thames and walking distance from the Tate Britain, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey, STK Westminster combines fine dining, expertly mixed cocktails, high energy music, an unbeatable happy hour, the unforgettable guest experience and constant celebratory vibe it has become so famous for.

For anyone who’s been to the original STK restaurant in Strand, London, you’ll be pleased to know that in true STK style, the new Westminster restaurant offers a dynamic fine dining experience, combined with the superior quality of a premium steakhouse. The menu features classic, contemporary American cuisine with a modern twist on the traditional steakhouse, carefully prepared to create craveable, beautiful and memorable dishes.

Guests begin their dining experience with a choice of mouth-watering starters such as Seared Scallops with cauliflower purée, alsace bacon, chive oil, sautéed asparagus & peas; Basil & Ricotta Ravioli with pecorino cheese and black truffle, and Yellowfin Tuna Tartare with Hass avocado, taro chips and soy honey emulsion. I, personally, would second the recommendation passed to me by my waitress and highlight the Lil’ Brgs as the starter to try: Usda beef sliders with a special sauce in between a sesame seed bun – it’s a genuinely great precursor to the steak main course you’re about to order!

Also within the restaurant is a raw bar with delights such as Oysters on a half shell, Jalapeño pickled shrimp (seriously good) and a chef’s special ceviche on offer.

For mains guests can select from STK’s signature steaks; all preferences are catered for with small, medium and large cuts of bavette, filet, flat iron, sirloin, Wagyu Picanha, Ribeye or Black Angus Tomahawk to choose from. For an extra touch of luxury, I would highly recommend making your order the most decadent surf and turf you’ve had by adding a roasted lobster tail. It’s absolutely divine, especially with a perfectly cooked steak of your choice. Superb combo, I’m salivating just reliving the memory.

Alternative options are also available with a wide selection of beautifully prepared mains such as: King Crab Linguine, Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass and Roasted Rack of Lamb. STK’s lovingly prepared sides perfectly accompany each dish with options such as Black Truffle Mac & Cheese, Confit Mushrooms, Triple Cooked Chips and Market Vegetables on the menu.

To complete the dining experience, guests should finish with one of STK’s super decadent desserts. Indulgent treats such as Hazelnut Chocolate Cake with chocolate ganache and cocoa crumble or a Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce will be sure to satisfy even the sweetest of teeth.

No dining experience is complete without a drink in hand and STK Westminster offers something for all tastes, with a comprehensive drinks menu encompassing expertly mixed cocktails, a selection of fine wines and both draught and bottled beers. The popular cocktail menu features drinks such as: Cucumber Stiletto  a fresh and zesty mix of Grey Goose Citron, St-Germain, lime juice and gomme syrup; Strawberry Cobbler  a sweet and fruity combination of Grey Goose, strawberry purée, lemon juice, gomme syrup; Not Your Daddy’s Old Fashioned Woodford Reserve  a twist on the classic with brown sugar, double dutch soda and angostura bitters and the STK Martini – a popular serve of Russian Standard Vodka, cranberry, orange sanguine, passion fruit and orange bitter.

Known for its celebratory vibe, STK brings the party to Westminster with a lineup of DJs who specialise in creating a buzz and experience no one will forget. The restaurant’s fun atmosphere is created by integrating high-energy songs from the 70s – 2000s and infusing current Top 40 hits and tastefully blending mixes of throwbacks, Motown, rock and reinventing familiar classics that keep people on the edge of their seats.

As if that wasn’t enough, unique to STK Westminster is the super luxury, private bowling lane. Whether it be a romantic night of bowling for two, a tournament for a couple of hours with colleagues or an all-night long party with dinner and bowling fun, you can choose from a series of packages according to what suits you and yours.

Throw in a Happy Hour from 3pm – 6:30pm, seven days a week, and an absolutely unparalleled bottomless brunch served on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30am to 3pm (another exclusive to STK Westminster) and this new venue could seriously be contender for the best steakhouse in the city.
