NYnLON’s “Sax & the City” Brunch transforms London weekends for food and fun seekers

Sundays have been quietly elevated at NYnLON, the New York–meets–London bistro tucked inside the Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars. From the moment we arrived for the launch of Sax & the City, the room felt like a polished Manhattan loft with a Thames-side view: warm lighting, attentive service, and a soundtrack that promised an afternoon of effortless glamour. The brunch, which debuts on 26 October 2025 and runs every Sunday from 12:00 to 16:00, pairs live music with an indulgent menu and two hours of free‑flowing bubbles — a combination that feels both celebratory and perfectly relaxed.

With my little brunch lover

The live music is central to the experience. On opening weekend the sultry saxophone and voice duo Ceryseliza set a languid, sophisticated tone that threaded through conversation and clinking glasses without ever overpowering the room. It’s the kind of soundtrack that turns a meal into an event: guests linger, plates are shared, and the afternoon stretches luxuriously. The concept is unabashedly social — designed for groups who want to eat well, drink well, and enjoy a soundtrack that lifts the whole affair.

NYnLON’s menu captures the transatlantic spirit with playful, elevated starters and confident mains. The buffet of starters and salads includes delights such as nduja devilled eggs, beetroot hummus with crudités, and a semi‑dried tomato and Parmesan cheesecake that tastes like a clever, savory indulgence. For mains, diners choose from options that read like a love letter to both cities: a juicy 10oz NY Strip steak with peppercorn sauce, baked and stuffed eggplant with whipped vegan feta, or the grilled catch of the day with a fennel and citrus salad. Sides of mac and cheese, house‑seasoned fries, and maple‑glazed carrots round out the spread, encouraging sharing and second helpings.

I went with my wife, our toddler, and our good friend Jude, and the afternoon felt like a small, stylish family celebration. The team at NYnLON were unfailingly accommodating to our little one, and the menu offered something for every palate. We found ourselves returning to the pizza — crisp at the edges and generously topped — and the steak quickly became the table’s favourite, arriving perfectly seasoned and tender. For dessert, the banana pudding was a standout: nostalgic yet refined, silky and comforting, prompting delighted murmurs from Jude and my wife and a very approving spoonful from our toddler.

Priced from £58 per person with two hours of free‑flowing Prosecco included, Sax & the City strikes a rare balance between accessible indulgence and true hospitality. For those who prefer an extra flourish, a Champagne upgrade is available at £98 per person, and freshly shucked oysters add an East Coast flourish for those who want to lean into decadence.

What makes NYnLON’s new brunch memorable is the way it stitches together music, atmosphere, and food into a single, cohesive experience. It’s not merely a meal; it’s a Sunday ritual reimagined for Londoners who appreciate a little sparkle with their comfort. Whether you’re gathering with family, catching up with friends, or simply treating yourself, Sax & the City offers a polished, convivial afternoon that lingers long after the last glass is poured.
