Restaurant review: Sette, Bvlgari Hotel Knightsbridge

In the heart of Knightsbridge, nestled within the opulent Bvlgari Hotel, Sette beckons with promises of an extraordinary dining experience. Recently, my wife and I had the pleasure of immersing ourselves in the exquisite offerings of Sette, a decision that turned an ordinary evening into a culinary adventure. This was greatly appreciated in my final days of pregnancy where my recent gourmet escapades involved devouring takeaways whilst watching numerous You Tube videos about inducing labour naturally (pineapple apparently).

Our gastronomic journey commenced with the Burrata with Anchovies and Garlic, a dish that immediately captivated our taste buds with its delicate balance of textures and flavours. The creamy burrata, sourced with evident care, paired seamlessly with the savoury anchovies and the subtle warmth of garlic. A refreshing start that set the tone for what was to follow.

For her starter, my wife opted for the Braised Short Rib with Seasonal Vegetables and Faro Risotto. The succulent short rib, cooked to perfection, melted in her mouth, revealing layers of rich, meaty joy. The seasonal vegetables and faro risotto showcased the chef’s commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients, creating a dish that celebrated the vibrancy of the season.

Moving on to the mains, our choices reflected the diverse and enticing options from Sette’s menu. The Tomahawk Steak, a true carnivore’s delight, was a masterpiece of culinary prowess. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare, the steak boasted a mouthwatering crust while maintaining a tender and juicy interior. Accompanied by complementary sides, it was pure happiness on a plate.

In contrast, the Homemade Tagliolini with Butter and Black Truffle from the special Black Truffle menu offered a luxurious ode to simplicity. The al dente pasta, lovingly coated in silky butter, provided the perfect canvas for the earthy aroma and flavour of black truffle. Each bite was a revelation, a sensory journey into the heart of Italian culinary finesse. We also shared a dover sole that was exceptional in every way.

As our evening unfolded, we found ourselves indulging in the sweet finale – desserts that elevated our dining experience to new heights. The NYC Cheesecake with Mixed Berries and Ice Cream was a divine creation, with a velvety texture that dissolved on the palate. The sweetness of the cheesecake was artfully balanced by the tartness of the mixed berries, while the accompanying ice cream added a delightful coolness to the ensemble.

Sette, situated in the prestigious Bvlgari Hotel, not only dazzled us with its culinary mastery but also demonstrated an unwavering commitment to exceptional service. The ambiance, a blend of sophistication and warmth, provided the perfect backdrop for our memorable evening.

Sette not only fulfilled our gastronomic desires but also created an environment where every dish became a celebration of life. The attentive staff, the expertly crafted menu, and the sheer luxury of the setting combined to make our dining experience at Sette inimitable – a culinary journey that transcended the humdrum of the ordinary, leaving us with cherished memories with my beloved bump and a newfound appreciation for the artistry of fine dining.
