Dalloway Terrace will introduce its new Secret Garden Afternoon Tea for children from 8th July, bringing the full charm of its botanical setting to younger guests with a menu created just for them.
A perennial beauty putting the “blooms” into Bloomsbury, Dalloway Terrace is a treat for all seasons and all senses. Artfully wrapped around the outer edge of The Bloomsbury hotel, the all-day space has long been loved for its indoor-outdoor setting, spectacular florals and quintessentially British charm.
The new Secret Garden Afternoon Tea, priced at £30 per child, is served in the terrace’s celebrated indoor-outdoor space, surrounded by seasonal florals and greenery. Designed with little guests in mind, it is simple enough for smaller appetites yet still carries the whimsical charm Dalloway Terrace is known for.
The afternoon tea is inspired by the children’s classic The Secret Garden, including a chocolate flower pot served in a terracotta pot, a shortbread key and Mary’s Victoria sponge. Children will also receive an activity book on arrival, adding an extra touch of discovery to the experience.
Savouries include classic finger sandwiches, with cucumber, free-range egg mayonnaise and Emmental served on soft white bread, followed by sultana and vanilla scones with Cornish clotted cream and seasonal preserve.
Situated in the heart of Bloomsbury, moments from the British Museum, Covent Garden and the West End, the terrace offers an enchanting pause for families exploring the capital.
Available everyday from 12pm to 4pm, the menu is perfectly timed for the summer break, whether as a post-museum treat, a birthday celebration or a slow, beautiful afternoon in one of London’s most storied neighbourhoods. Booking in advance is recommended to avoid disappointment.
Named after Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dalloway, the terrace sits just a stone’s throw from the old stomping ground of the Bloomsbury Set. Like its novel namesake, Dalloway Terrace is imbued with elegance, character and an unmistakable sense of occasion. The Secret Garden Afternoon Tea extends that same spirit to the youngest guests at the table.
