London’s Mayfair district is renowned for its luxurious and high-end dining experiences, and El Norte, the esteemed Spanish restaurant on Dover Street, has recently raised the bar with its exciting new offering. La Fiesta, a Spanish party extravaganza, is set to electrify your Friday nights with tantalizing tapas, bottomless sangria and cava, and live performers that will whisk you away to the heart of Spain.
Launched to critical acclaim last month, La Fiesta at El Norte is a culinary and cultural journey that promises an unforgettable experience. My wife and I recently had the pleasure of attending one of these electrifying Friday night soirees, and the evening left us absolutely mesmerized.
As we entered the restaurant, the vibrant atmosphere was palpable. The place was abuzz with a diverse and energetic crowd, all eager to dive into a night of Spanish festivities. For an additional £29 per person, diners can enjoy bottomless sangria or cava for two hours, turning your evening into a genuine Spanish fiesta. The premium quality of these beverages was exceptional and perfectly complemented the sumptuous Spanish fare.
The menu was an exquisite array of luxury tapas dishes designed to be shared among friends and family, making it a fantastic choice for a birthday celebration or a memorable night out. We indulged in some standout dishes, including the fried aubergine with feta and honey, which offered a delightful combination of textures and flavours, and the goat’s cheese croquetas with honey and pistachio, which were simply heavenly.
The main courses were equally exceptional, with the roasted chicken breast doused in truffle sauce and the red wine ox cheek with vanilla mash standing out as culinary masterpieces. The balance of flavours and the presentation were remarkable, a testament to El Norte’s commitment to providing an authentic Spanish dining experience.
However, the highlight of our evening was the live performers. The jovial singer crooned Spanish gypsy king hits that had the entire room swaying to the rhythm. The atmosphere was electrified, and it was impossible not to be enchanted by the beautiful dancers who moved gracefully between the tables, inviting diners to join in the celebration. Their captivating performances brought a true taste of Spain to Mayfair, and the energy in the room was infectious..
El Norte, owned by restaurateur twins Arian and Alberto Zandi, has continued to push the boundaries of fine dining in London. Their commitment to providing not only exceptional cuisine but also a memorable overall experience is evident in La Fiesta which is truly a gastronomic treat with a side of fun Spanish flair.
Alberto and Arian’s vision and innovation have earned them a spot in Forbes 30 Under 30, and they are poised to shape London’s fine dining scene for years to come, already impressing diners with their other popular restaurants Como Garden, Zuaya and the recently opened Riviera. El Norte’s La Fiesta is a fabulous nod to their creative and culinary prowess, a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an exceptional Spanish dining experience in the heart of Mayfair.
