How chocolate lovers do afternoon tea

R Chocolate London is a quaint little chocolate shop nestled within the chic streets of Belgravia.

Once you enter this alluring cavern of sweet treats you will instantly be transported back to the sugar-loving days of your childhood where unwrapping an illicit bar of chocolate at the end of the school day was one of the greatest pleasures life had to offer.

Who am I kidding, I still feel the same to this day. As much as I try to stay away from the evils of sugar and smugly sip on my wheatgrass infused green juices, chocolate gets me every time. Because of this niggling internal conflict, I’ve decided to only consume sweet treats as long as they are the best of the best – hence why I decided to nip along with a coco-loving friend for afternoon tea at R Chocolate London.

As we eagerly awaited the arrival of our naughty baked goods we gazed around in wonderment at the various chocolate concoctions on offer gracing the shelves of this special shop.

Dark chocolate encasing sweet marzipan, rich drinking chocolate, Champagnes – because Champagne should always be drunk when you are eating anything remotely exciting.

We were mid gripping conversation when a multitude of elegant cream filled pastries, tempting sponge cakes, dark chocolate tartlets and more arrived in front of us.

There were also freshly baked scones dotted with dark chocolate chips, which we generously filled with thick clotted cream and ruby red strawberry jam.

We opened for the calming camomile tea and traditional English breakfast blend to accompany our epic cakefest, which still haunts me to this very day.

R Chocolate London, I will most certainly be back.
