Inside The Cumberland – London’s luxury music-themed hotel

Placed by Marble Arch on Oxford Street, The Cumberland is the perfect hub for last minute Christmas shopping and is even a stone’s throw from the iconic Winter Wonderland. Spoil yourself and your loved one with a stay and indulge in effortlessly stylish, music-themed rooms – complete with vinyl record player and guitars available on room service.

Milestone

Situated in one of the city’s most sought after locations – Marble Arch, on the corner of Oxford Street and Park Lane – The Cumberland hotel is one of London’s biggest champions of culture and music, taking inspiration from the building’s rich history of housing music legends.

As the venue approaches its 90th birthday, it has seen guests such as Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, Jimi Hendrix and Buddy Holly, and more recently Sister Sledge, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, who have all indulged in its fusion of comfort and service.

Throughout its history the hotel has supported various charities, and makes an ample prize donation to Global’s Make Some Noise every year, which is auctioned at their annual charity gala in London.

SOUND

The Cumberland provides an expansive food and beverage offering, and a continual evolution of entertainment space, bringing you live music and entertainment seven days a week through their food and beverage brand, SOUND.

The hotel also offers meeting and event spaces with a fully integrated online booking platform to provide event organisers with a simple and seamless booking journey.

The prime location in the heart of the west end also makes The Cumberland the perfect base to rest and relax ahead of exploring London’s vast and varied offerings, whilst simultaneously providing a sanctuary away from the capital’s hustle and bustle.

Drinks & Dining

When it comes to dining, guests can head to SOUND Cafe to indulge in food for every occasion. With fish and chips, fiery fajitas, burgers, sizzling steaks and a newly-launched vegan menu, there’s definitely something for everyone. The venue also features robot-to-table delivery to make service as smooth as possible.

For extra indulgence guests can even book a bottomless brunch, afternoon tea, or cocktail masterclass at the venue’s design-award winning SOUND Bar. Whether you’re after a mean martini or mouth-puckering margarita, the SOUND Bar expert mixologists are always on hand to mix up your favourites. With an eclectic mix of cocktails, beers, boozy milkshakes and delectable desserts, SOUND Bar offers a great spot for date night or mate night.

And at SOUND Sports Bar guests can catch the match, big fights and epic races, with live sports from all major channels available to watch on 4K screens, meaning fans never have to miss a single sporting event.

Music

From up-and-coming pop, jazz, and rock ‘n’ roll artist performances to the popular Smells Like Queen Spirit drag brunch every Sunday, there’s always something going on at The Cumberland and a new experience to enjoy.

Hotel guests can let the music flow to their own rooms too with ‘Your Own Sound’, The Cumberland’s unique “guitar room service” offering. Guests can choose from a menu of Fender electric and acoustic guitars, ukeleles and basses, which will be delivered to the room with a mini amplifier and headphones to keep the sound contained to their room.

Alternatively, guests who want to sit back and enjoy the music can browse the hotel’s collection of vinyl records and get their favourite songs delivered to their room along with a Crosley Turntable to play them on.

Rock ‘n’ Roll

With over 900 spacious rooms (dog-friendly options available too) and 18 suites (including a very cool VIP backstage area for extra special guests), alongside 17 meeting spaces, an on-site gym, and a Walk of Frame package which allows guests complimentary access to Frameless for up to two people, the hotel might be nearly 100 years old but it’s recent revamp (it used to be Hard Rock Hotel) has proven that rock ‘n’ roll never dies!
