Craving steak in the City?

The Grill Room at the Three Cranes has existed since 1911, but recently underwent a bit of an overhaul and reopened with an exciting new menu in January. From chef-restaurateur, Henry Harris, The Grill Room offers a combination of good-old fashioned British cooking with the flair of French bistros.

Expect daily-changing cuts of steak and chops, expertly cooked to your palette and accompanied by a sauce or butter of your choosing from an impressive list (don’t worry veggies, they are tweaking the menu so you won’t be left out).

To start, look no further than the signature steak tartare. It’s seasoned well, light in texture but rich in flavour, so enough for two to share.

The highlights, undoubtedly, are the steaks. The rump is so flavoursome and juicy – sublime with the anchovy and rosemary butter. The rib-eye is a little tougher, but very succulent and was paired perfectly with the bone marrow butter for a fuller, meatier taste. Worth noting here that their meat is dry aged for 35 days and sourced from the Ayrshire Coast.

With an impressive wine list to match (shout out here to Norbert for his expertise in recommendations), you won’t be disappointed next time you get that craving for some steak.
